Title:Status of Acoustic Detection
Abstract:The possibility exists of detecting UHE neutrinos via acoustic detection methods. In suitable media such as water, ice and salt the attenuation length of the expected acoustic signal is long, and thus potentially large effective volumes may be instrumented using relatively sparse arrays of acoustic sensors. The presentation will review the status of R&D activities in this field in Europe and the US.
