- Abstract:Current neutrino experiments are approaching sensitivities which allow
detection of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) in their high state. However, the expected neutrino signals are still quite weak and detection could be apreciably enhanced by taking into account the available contemporaneous data in different electro-magnetic wavelength bands, especially in the very high energy (VHE) gamma-ray regime.
A good understanding of the phenomenology of gamma-ray flux variability in the known VHE AGN is crucial to this. In particular, the AGN flare rate is required as an ingredient in the calculation of the significance
of a hypothetical gamma-neutrino coincidence. Steps toward a collection of available VHE gamma-ray data from AGN, a general approach for lightcurve combination, and an estimation of
flare probabilities will be presented.
