Abstract:The past few years have seen highly significant science results emerging from ground based gamma-ray astronomy in the TeV region. Several new classes of object which emit in this energy range, at both small and large angular scales, have been discovered. The crucial development which has enabled this progress is higher detection sensitivity. This talk will discuss possible future directions for this field in the context of scientific goals and the practical and cost aspects of these efforts.
