Much of the winter snow has been cleared to allow access in and around the structures that contain the drilling heating plant and pumps. A portable generator has been located at the Summer Camp to supply power for heaters in these structures prior to installation of upgraded or replaced components.

This week the IceCube population at the station is 6 drillers and 5 winterovers. Weather conditions and training exercises at McMurdo prevented 4 drillers from arriving at the station as scheduled. Equipment continues to be delivered when weather conditions permit.

The Optical Module Labs (OMLs) will be used to test the Digital Optical Modules (DOMs) to make sure they arrived in working condition after their long journey to the South Pole Station.
